Independence Come to North Carolina

Join historical interpreters as they reenact events surrounding the joyous news of the recent passage of a Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress in Philadelphia. See a reenactor portray Cornelius Harnett, President of the Council of Safety, reading the Declaration for the first time in North Carolina, to a crowd assembled at the Halifax Courthouse on August 1, 1776. Free.
