Join us for the album release show for re:fuge - Dilshan's live record and full length debut album, featuing Shuvanjan Karmaker, Andrew Mackelvie, Josh Awe, Silvio Pupo, and Jackson Fairfax-Perry. Opening set by BlackTea Buffalo. This music draws on a range of influences, from indie R&B and Neo-soul, to Hip-hop and Jazz, to free improvised music to deliver an album and a night of music that is not to be missed.

Born and raised in Halifax, NS, Dilshan is an artist, musician, and music scholar. He performed with artists such as Michael Kaeshammer, Regina Carter, multi-JUNO winner Hilario Duran, and GRAMMY nominee Ignacio Berroa. He has studied and performed with artists from a range of disciplines, from jazz guitarist Lorne Lofsky, to composer and Chance the Rapper collaborator JoVia Armstrong, to Guggenheim award winners such as poet Brian Teare and composer and flutist Nicole Mitchell. In 2022 and 2023, he collaborated alongside Nathaniel Cole and Nathan “DB” Simmons on sound installations, debuting at Nocturne Halifax, listed by The Coast as one of the five can’t-miss projects of the festival.
Dilshan's music draws from a host of styles, from indie R&B to soul jazz, to Neo-soul/Hip-hop and free improvisation, with a unique sound that will delight fans of Sampha and Frank Ocean, indie fans of Dijon and Bon Iver, and Hip-hop jazz fans of Robert Glasper and Yussef Dayes.
