Choirs for Change presents: Fallen Fruit

Featuring Choirs for Change's ECMA-nominated choir Polaris, Fallen Fruit uses choral music to explore themes of food insecurity and, through community action, move toward food sovereignty.

The concert program includes a blend of choral pieces, such as “Tchaka” by Sydney Guillaume and “Brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot” by J.S. Bach, and choral arrangements of pop musicians, such as “Fallen Fruit” by Lorde, and “The Song of Purple Summer” from Spring Awakening.

At this event, audience members will have two ways to be of measurable support to those experiencing food insecurity: by bringing a non-perishable food item to donate and/or by purchasing a 50/50 ticket. Proceeds from the 50/50 draw will be donated to Halifax Community Fridge, a mutual aid-based fridge and pantry that aims to provide free, low-barrier access to food in our community. 50/50 draw details to come!

A limited number of tickets will also be available to purchase at the door, with a Pay-What-You-Can option for those that require accessible pricing.
