Artist Boot Camp: A Professional Workshop

This summer, I’ll be offering a few half-day Friday workshops in my Half Moon Bay residence (above the gallery) followed by a fun lunch for socializing. Space will be limited to a small group allowing for robust candid conversations and brainstorming. Our topics include understanding art exhibition venue business models, how to present yourself for greater visibility, and how to develop the essential professional building blocks. You’ll leave with a strong artist statement, and a written plan with action steps plus timeline to achieve your professional goals using our templates.  

Want to take your art practice to the next level? Artists who are a good match for this workshop are interested in showing their work within the established art world ecosystem.
We’ll cover:

1. Business models: galleries, nonprofit exhibition spaces, museums, civic art commissions, art advisors, interior designers (60 minutes)
2. Garnering attention from press, museum curators, gallerists, art advisors, interior designers, grantmakers, and jurors (60 minutes)
3. How to develop the indispensable professional building blocks of an artist including statement, C.V., bio, cover letters, digital images of your art, website, Instagram and Facebook, networking, print collateral like business cards, postcards, catalogs (60 minutes).

Free, plentiful, all-day street parking within a half-block of the gallery. One ADA spot in the parking lot available, but there is a steep staircase to get to the workshop on the 2nd floor.
