Boise State University's Theatre Arts Program is thrilled to again partner with Sun Valley Playwright’s Residency and Boise Contemporary Theater. Join us for a reading of "Speech & Debate," one of Stephen Karam's early plays that put him on the map as a major voice in the American theatre. Directed by Benjamin Burdick and featuring Boise State theatre arts students, this play reading offers a unique experience to hear work by a leading artist.

Saturday, October 25 at 7 PM
Liberty Theatre, Hailey, Idaho

The evening begins with a conversation between Tony, Obie & Drama Desk Award Winner Stephen Karam and Artistic Director John Baker, followed by a reading of Speech & Debate, which tells the story of three teenagers in Salem, Oregon. When one of them discovers the truth about a sex scandal in their town… secrets become currency, blogs are belted, and the trio’s connection grows deeper in this dark comedy with music.

Directed by Boise Contemporary Theater Artistic Director Benjamin Burdick and featuring Boise State University Department of Theatre, Film & Creative Writing students, alumni & faculty.
