This first extant Gilbert & Sullivan operetta premiered on March 25, 1875,paired with Offenbach’s comic opera 'La Périchole' to
provide an evening’s entertainment. We’ll turn our attention to this short work for a full afternoon by having Ralph Sherman, J.D., 'Trial by Jury' scholar, and longtime member and former president of the
Simsbury Light Opera Company, provide an introduction before the sing-through.
