Thursday, Feb. 19 - Cognitive and Mood Support: Our minds are constantly processing, reacting, and adapting—and in today’s world, they’re often overwhelmed. Ayurveda sees the mind (manas) as closely linked to the doshas and to ojas, our vital reserve of energy. In this class, we’ll explore the Ayurvedic and scientific understanding of how stress, energy, and mood are interconnected. We’ll dive deep into adaptogens—Ayurvedic herbs that support the body’s ability to adapt to stress—like Tulsi, Shankhpushpi, Kapikkachu, Bacopa, Gotu Kola and other complimentary herbs like Mimosa, Gingko, & Rhodiola. These powerful plants help build up reliance to stress, support emotional stability, and promote clarity and focus. You'll learn how to work with them safely and mindfully, aligning with your constitution and current state. You’ll leave with practical strategies for supporting mental clarity and emotional resilience through herbs, lifestyle rhythms, and nourishing practices that promote sattva—the balanced state of mind Ayurveda sees as key to well-being. Thursday, April 23 -Sleep and Nervous System Support: In Ayurveda, sleep is considered one of the three pillars of life, essential for restoring both body and mind. In this class, we’ll explore the Ayurvedic view of sleep and how it’s deeply intertwined with the nervous system. We’ll discuss the doshic imbalances that lead to sleep disturbances—from the overstimulation of Vata to the overheated mind of Pitta—and how to gently guide the body back into rhythm. You’ll be introduced to nervine herbs—those that nourish and calm the nervous system—like Jatamansi, Nutmeg, & Shankapushpi along with complimentary Western herbs like Passionflower, Skullcap, and Oat Straw. Together, we’ll explore their properties, taste them, and learn how to create calming evening rituals. We’ll also touch on daily routines, breath practices, and sleep hygiene that can anchor your nervous system and support deep rest. This class is perfect for anyone struggling with stress, anxiety, or poor sleep, and will leave you with a toolkit of herbal and lifestyle practices to cultivate grounded rest and long-term resilience. Thursday, June 4 - Digestion & Nutrition: In Ayurveda, digestion is everything. Known as agni, your digestive fire governs not only how you break down food but also how you process thoughts, emotions, and experiences. When agni is strong, health flourishes; when it’s weak or imbalanced, disease can take root. This class explores how to support healthy digestion using Ayurvedic principles and herbs. You’ll learn how to identify your digestive type (Tikshna, Manda, Vishama) and how to restore balance using food, spices, and traditional digestive herbs like Ginger, Ajwain, Triphala, and Cardamom. We'll explore the six tastes (rasa) and how understanding taste can help you build meals that are not only nourishing but deeply supportive to your individual body’s needs. Whether you're experiencing bloating, sluggish digestion, or irregular appetite, this class offers tools for strengthening your agni, tuning into your body's cues, and bringing more awareness to how and what you eat. Thursday, Aug. 27 - Supporting the Immune System: A strong immune system isn’t built overnight—it’s cultivated through nourishment, rest, and deep alignment with nature. In this final class, we’ll look at how Ayurveda supports long-term immunity through the concept of ojas, the essence of vitality and resilience. We’ll explore immune-supportive herbs like Amalaki, Guduchi, & Punarnava and traditional formulas like Chavanaprash. We’ll also look at the role of digestion, stress, and sleep in immune health. You'll learn how to strengthen your system from the inside out, using rituals and herbs that honor both prevention and nourishment. This class offers a grounded, proactive approach to immune support—not just for cold and flu season, but as a way of living in deeper harmony with your own body and the world around you. Thursday, Oct. 29 - Movement of the Body and Lymph: Ayurveda teaches us that stagnation leads to disease, while healthy movement—of fluids, breath, and energy—is essential for vitality. In this class, we’ll explore the lymphatic system through both a Western and Ayurvedic lens, and why it's so vital for immunity, detoxification, and overall balance. We'll work with Ayurvedic lymph-moving herbs such as Manjistha, Guggulu, & Punarnava, as well as complimentary Western herbs like Red Clover & Cleavers, while also exploring practices like dry brushing, self-massage (abhyanga), and mindful movement to support flow and circulation. You'll gain insight into how Kapha imbalance and ama (toxic buildup) can lead to stagnation and how to restore healthy movement. This class is ideal for anyone feeling sluggish, puffy, or in need of revitalization. You’ll walk away with tangible practices to promote circulation, clarity, and lightness in both body and mind. Friday, Dec. 4 - Supporting the Detox Pathways: Detoxification in Ayurveda isn’t about extremes—it’s about supporting the body’s innate intelligence to release what no longer serves and replenish what it needs. In this class, we’ll explore how the liver and other detox pathways are viewed in Ayurveda, and how we can support them gently and consistently. We’ll work with Ayurvedic liver-supportive herbs like Guduchi, Bhumyamalaki, & Neem, as well as some complimentary western herbs like Dandelion & Milk Thistle, learning their energetics and actions on the body. You’ll learn how to identify signs of sluggish detoxification—such as skin issues, fatigue, or irritability—and how to bring more balance through herbs, food, and daily routines. This class offers a gentle, sustainable approach to detoxification rooted in nourishment, not deprivation—helping you feel clearer, lighter, and more in tune with your body’s natural rhythms.
