Johnny Cash was a towering figure in American music, a gravel-voiced storyteller who walked the line between outlaw and icon. Rising to fame in the 1950s with hits like “Folsom Prison Blues” and “I Walk the Line,” he blended country, rockabilly, and gospel into a sound uniquely his own. Known for his rebellious spirit and signature all-black attire, Cash’s 1968 live album At Folsom Prison became a landmark moment. Later in life, his stark, emotional American Recordings reignited his legend. More than just a country star, Cash was a voice for the outsider, raw, real, and enduringly powerful.
