St James Heritage Open Day (Bell Tower Open)

ST JAMES' BELL TOWER OPEN TO THE PUBLIC TOMORROW. Sunday Sep 21st 12noon to 5pm. Last year visitors really enjoyed their visit to the ringing chamber (and the chance to ring themselves) so don't miss out tomorrow afternoon. Although the church is open everyday the tower is usually locked - we have no plans to open it again in the near future. Members of the bell ringing team will be on hand to explain how things work. NB the tower steps are steep and not suitable for everyone. This is linked to the Heritage Open Day Scheme and we will also have welcomers in the church to answer questions about the building and it's history.
