Ken Harrison was a talented sculptor but, following a traffic accident, he is now confined to a hospital bed, paralysed from the neck down. Despite the subject matter, the play is very funny with lots of dark humour. Ken is witty and intelligent, wanting the right to choose his own future, a subject that is burningly topical. It will be staged in the Bellerby Studio at G Live, from 12th/14th March, with a Saturday matinee.
Ken (in an alternative version, Clare) is around 30, with other major roles being, Sister, female (30/50), Nurse, female (20s), Dr Emerson, male (50/60s), Dr Scott, M/F, depending on ‘Ken’s’ gender (30s), and 4 other roles, various ages, M/F.
