Finding Our History: Russian River Response to HIV/AIDS Epidemic

The Russian River Historical Society has been awarded a grant from CA State Library to document, preserve, and make accessible the unique history of how the Russian River LGBTQ+ community and their allies responded to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the 1980s and 1990s.

Join us during Russian River Pride on Saturday September 20th at 4pm at the Guerneville Library. Community members with knowledge of the unique history or interest in volunteering are invited to join this special launch event for the project which will include a presentation and exhibit of materials from the time period, opportunities to identify stories and voices to preserve, and other volunteer opportunities to support this important effort to preserve our history.
