Native Tree Care & Composting

This educational session will discuss the purpose and development of GINLC’s new Native Tree Nursery as well as tips & tricks on composting! Other key topics include what a native tree is, the selection of the right native trees for your property, and the various benefits of native trees. We will cover the proper care required for newly planted native trees, and information will be provided to attendees listing native trees suitable for Grosse Ile. Those interested in getting started with composting and experienced composters will be provided with useful tips for successfully creating compost from garden waste and kitchen scraps that you can use to enrich your flower beds and gardens.
