Leeton Museum and Art Gallery is proud to present The Fire Beneath the Wax, a stunning new solo exhibition by regional NSW artist Sharon De Valentin.

Featuring luminous encaustic paintings and delicate sculptural vessels, Sharon’s work explores transformation, memory, and the elemental power of fire. Each piece is layered with molten beeswax, resin, and pigment—scraped, fused, and reworked through an intuitive process that blurs the line between painting and sculpture.

Her textured wax vessels reflect ideas of fragility and resilience, drawing attention to bees and hives as symbols of ecological balance and care.
