CommUNITY OpportUNITY Tailgate & Food Drive

On Friday, October 24, 2025, the Gretna Public Schools Foundation, with the support of the District, will host a CommUNITY OpportUNITY event to bring our community together in support of families within our schools.

The driving force behind this event is the Gretna Backpack Program, a community effort to make sure every Gretna child has food to eat when school isn't in session. This program currently serves 75 families each week, helping students come to school on Mondays ready to learn.

We invite everyone attending the Battle of 370 Football Game on October 24th to bring a non-perishable food item to donate that evening. The Foundation will use these items for our weekend backpack program. We will also be hosting a tailgate with burgers and hot dogs. All proceeds from the tailgate will go toward the Backpack Program.
