Lunch and Learn-Blueberries

Join us for a presentation about Growing Blueberries presented by Maryann Smith. Bring your own lunch or snack if you wish.

Maryann Smith is a new resident to Greenville, SC. Her and husband, Chris moved from PA last summer to be closer to their two adult children and spouses and adorable granddaughters, Yara and Jewel. She was a former active Penn State Master Gardener for 13 years before moving. She loves growing her own vegetables and perennial flowers and was sad to leave her 30 mature blueberry bushes behind in PA. She has since had to redesign her formerly shaded yard to full sun due to last years’ hurricane damage. The learning curve is great from a northern to southern garden, but she is up to the challenge and has already planted 6 blueberry bushes for her family to enjoy. She’s excited to keep her hand in the Master Gardener program by volunteering with her sister, Cecilia Mescall, a new Greenwood Master Gardener.
