🌲 The Last Log Drive on Moosehead Lake — A Night of Stories with Rocky Rockwell
Fifty years ago, Moosehead Lake witnessed its final log drive—a rugged procession of timber and the people who guided it across water and downriver. It was a tradition that shaped Maine’s woods, towns, and culture for generations.
🚤 Join us for a special evening with Rocky Rockwell, a key participant in that historic final drive, as he shares firsthand stories of life atop the logs—camaraderie, grit, and the hazards of riverwork, told with vivid detail and heartfelt honesty.

This Forest Heritage Days program is more than memory—it’s living history, and we warmly invite anyone who worked on the drives to join us. Whether you worked the river, supported the crews, or simply remember those final logs coming ashore, your stories belong here too.
