Rich Nelson 3-DAY Portrait Workshop

Rich will be focusing on painting the head with good drawing and strong natural color.

The workshop is open to all ages and skill levels, and all media. Rich will be using oils.
Rich breaks painting down into seven steps: inspiration, composition, drawing, value, color, paint application and edges, and calling it done.

Day 1: introductions, a lecture on his materials and approach, light and shadow, and on color. a demo and then the class begins
Days 2 and 3 starts with a demo and then class begins.

Throughout the time that artists are working on their own pieces there will be number of class reviews along the way; mostly just putting the work up and having each artist say 'how it's going’.
Rich often keeps painting if the class would like, as he is interested in demonstrating and participating in the "process" of painting.
