Seven years ago, we set out to learn more about our community and how we got to have such widely divergent views on things. Through our Storytime + Wine series, we invited a variety of leaders and friends to engage in conversation about some of the topics consuming our thoughts and activating so much division and social angst: Effective leadership, healthy masculinity/femininity, the comedy/depression connection, building success after incarceration, wealth management, faith, and so much more.
In 2025, our concerns remain. Many are amplified. How can we listen more deeply... so we can solve problems quickly? Collaboratively? How can our resources and relationships be engineered more effectively to improve quality of life for as many as possible? The need for sustainable, accountable community ecosystems is more urgent than ever. Our children, our families, and our future are hanging in the balance. No amount of avoidance will make it better. Quite the contrary.
On Saturday, September 13, we are bringing together some of the brightest local minds to illuminate simple truths, remember who we are, and return to some basics. This event is for the wise disruptors, the relentless humanitarians, the fearless leaders, thinkers, speakers, writers, artists, and doers.
We still believe in face-to-face connection. We still believe in hugs. We still believe in laughter to keep from crying. And we still believe in We the People — creative, resilient, and more determined than ever to make choices that our 90-year-old selves can be proud of.
