Kayaking: Deep Water Exit and Re-Entry

Kayaking: Deep Water Exit and Re-Entry will provide introductory knowledge and skills on safety and rescue for recreational kayaking. This course is designed for the experienced recreational paddler or as a progressive step from our Kayaking FUNdamentals.
In this course, you will learn how to safely exit your kayak in the event of capsize, how to reenter from deep water assisted and unassisted, the importance of a trip plan, proper equipment, clothing and rescue gear, rescue philosophy, communication and signals. A touring style kayak with front and rear sealed bulkheads or a recreational kayak with appropriate floatation is required if using your own gear.
