23rd Annual Mental Health & Wellness Fair

Returning to the grounds of Energy Park in #GreenfieldMA on Wed., May 21.

This free community event highlights the many #FranklinCountyMA #behavioralhealth and wellness resources we have available. It also helps reduced stigma associated with mental health challenges.

The fair is hosted by the Green River House and Quabbin House, clubhouse programs of Clinical & Support Options (CSO).

For two full decades, this free community event has been showcasing our region’s behavioral health and wellness resources and reducing stigma associated with mental health challenges.

The fair is hosted by the 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 and 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, clubhouse programs of local nonprofit community behavioral health agency Clinical & Support Options (CSO).

The theme of this year’s event is “Kindness Is the Path to Wellness,” reinforcing the relationship that exists between connectedness/community and wellbeing. Through kindness and sociability, we engage and prosper.

𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘 & 𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗕𝗕𝗜𝗡 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘
Adults who face significant mental health challenges have found they can manage—and even thrive—when immersed in a peer community that is work-focused and wholly supportive.

Since their formation in the late ’80s, the Green River House (1988) in Greenfield and Quabbin House (1987) in Orange have provided a safe, steady home-base for its membership, all of which is enrolled with the Dept. of Mental Health. While clubhouse members each face mental health challenges, the program focuses on strength, talents, and abilities.

“The Clubhouse model is one that emerged mid-20th Century,” explains CSO’s Director of Clubhouses Kim Thibault-Britt, C.P.R.P. “The idea is that a clubhouse community can come together to help one another succeed at leading healthy and productive lives.”

Thibault-Britt goes on to explain, “Our membership, along with our staff, lead a work-ordered day inside the clubhouses and focus on employment and education within our local communities. We build consensus and take on projects as a team. And for 20 years, the Mental Health & Wellness Fair has been an exemplary product of what we can achieve together.”

23 YEARS OF COMMUNITY IMPACT
The Mental Health & Wellness Fair first began in 2002 in the parking lot of Our Place, what was then a day program on Wells Street in Greenfield. Since that time, CSO has grown the annual event under the auspices of its two clubhouse programs — the Green River House in Greenfield and the Quabbin House in Orange.

The 23rd Mental Health & Wellness Fair will be held 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 at 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 (50 Miles St., Greenfield) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21.
