Lope de Vega's Romeo and Juliet: A Comedy directed by Liana Olear.
Contemporary with Shakespeare’s famous work and based on the same older story, Lope de Vega’s hilarious twist on the star-crossed lovers offers plenty of laughs to anyone who might have ever wished Romeo and Juliet a happier ending.
The auditions will be on September 16 & 17 at the Greenbelt Arts Center – 123 Centerway, Greenbelt MD 20770.
Auditions will consist of provided sides (coming soon). No appointment needed.
The Rude Mechanicals practice race-conscious casting. Actors of all genders, races, ages, religions, ethnicities, and abilities welcome are encouraged to audition for all roles. A diverse cast is desired.
Auditions and rehearsals will be in Greenbelt, MD. Rehearsals will be Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 8-10pm.
Performances will be January 30th through February 7th, Fridays and Saturdays with one additional mid-week performance and a 2pm Sunday matinee.
The Rude Mechanicals are an all-volunteer organization.
