This Memorial Day, the City of Green offers a full day of family events beginning with a free Pancake Breakfast from 7-10 am, followed by the Memorial Day Parade, our Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, and a Car Show and Picnic. Festivities conclude at 3 pm.
Pancake Breakfast @ Fire Station #1, 4200 Massillon Road
Members of the Fire Local Union will be cooking up pancakes and sausage. Juice and coffee will also be provided. The Pancake Breakfast will run from 7 am to 10 am at Fire Station #1, 4200 Massillon Rd. Breakfast is free; however, donations are accepted to benefit Furnace Street Mission Safety Forces Support Center.
Memorial Day Parade
The Memorial Day Parade begins at Green High School, 1474 Boettler Rd, at 10 am, travels east on Boettler Rd to Massillon Rd (southbound lanes only), then onto Steese Rd to Green Intermediate School. Lastly, parade participants will make their way back to Green High School via Bulldog Blvd. If your business or organization is interested in being in the parade, please contact our Parks Division at 330-896-6621.
Memorial Day Ceremony @ Veterans Park, 1900 Steese Road
Our Memorial Day Ceremony starts at 12 pm and honors our fallen heroes.
Community Picnic and Car Show @ Torok Community and Senior Center
Beginning immediately following the Memorial Day Ceremony, a free picnic lunch will be served at the John Torok Community and Senior Center. The lunch includes a hotdog, chips, drink and ice cream treat. Classic and specialty cars interested in participating in the Car Show should enter the Torok Community Center parking lot prior to the parade and/or before the Memorial Ceremony begins at 12 p.m. The car show ends at 3 p.m.
