The R.A.W. band
R.A.W. loves music!
They love watching people dancing and singing along with the band.
It's what they do!
Yes, they specialize in music from the late 50's to early 70's, but they GUARANTEE you'll have heard every song they do. Like the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Monkees, Chuck Berry... they're classics and they're all DANCEABLE. And every one of the band members can SING. So there's no burnout on "too much of the same".
So, check them out... And most of all... ENJOY THE SHOW!
Allan Bartlett
Drums, Vocals: Allan Bartlett was born in Tucson, AZ and got his first Snare Drum at the age of eight. After a few drum lessons, he wanted a complete drum set. Five years later, he finally got his first set! With more lessons and listening to records, Allan managed to learn to keep a beat...most of the time. Allan has been in multiple bands and is in great demand! In addition to "keeping the beat most of the time," Allan does a mean Don Henley and loves to perform antics to keep the audience entertained!
Randy Cochran
Randy Cochran – Bass, Vocals
Randy grew up in north Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a teen, he played in a popular band and got to know other musicians around town: Jamie Oldaker, Dwight Twilly, Phil Seymour among others.
After a stint in the Navy, he allied with longtime partner, Ron White, and formed Big Sky which wound up in the Shelter Records stable. They were part of the second generation of the “Tulsa Sound” headed up by Leon Russell, J. J. Cale, David Teegarden(Bob Seger), Carl Radle, Dick Sims (Clapton Band) and others. He did many recording sessions and worked with longtime producer and friend at Shelter, Tom Russell.
He began teaching music in 1977 but in 1979 went on the road with a bluegrass comedy show known as A Grain of Salt. In 1985, he came to Tucson where he has performed with many groups: Leanne McCabe Band, Chuck Wagon and the Wheels, Billy Shears Band, Kelly Bryan Band, Still Cruising among others. He went back to teaching until his retirement from Nogales High School as the director of bands in May 2012. He again went back to teaching, this time with Tucson Unified School District where he continues today.
Walker Foard
Guitar, Keyboard, Vocals: Walker Foard is heavily influenced by acoustic guitar players such as Paul Simon, James Taylor and Steven Stills. He's never been a minute without loving to play. Walker was in bands as early as in Junior High school, and earned spending money in college by playing as a duo. He moved to the Washington, D.C. area after college and played for about 6 years in a band called “Tucson.” After moving to the real Tucson, he became the Creative Director for a group of radio stations. Currently Walker is lucky enough to be able to write and produce music for a variety of stores, restaurants, banks… you name it! It’s all about the music!
2025 will be the final year the RAW band will be performing as a band. After 2025, band members will be pursuing different venues. If you haven't heard this band, they are a must as they are one of the GV Elk's top band, and will be missed.
The Elks is a members only organization, but not to fret about that. I can sign in anyone into the Elks. all I need is your full name and I'll do the rest. We have a full menu for those who wish to make an evening of it. so, if you're bored with nothing to do this weekend put your dancing shoes on and c'mon down to the Elks for a great time.
