Join public historian Sophia Etier for a fascinating look at Montana’s lesser-known past. From 1865 to 1917, the state’s booming industries gave rise not only to thriving cities but also to vibrant, complex red-light districts. This program explores the social fabric of these communities - highlighting the lives of marginalized residents, including African American and Chinese Montanans, whose contributions have long been overlooked. Come hear the real stories of the people who helped shape Montana’s Gilded Age.
