This walk takes you from Bewdley to Great Malvern where you can enjoy splendid views of the Malvern Hills.
The path starts on the River Severn in Bewdley and heads south passing the villages of Abberley and and Martley on your way to Great Malvern. The walk also takes you through the delightful Ravenshill Woodland Reserve and the Teme Valley, we will have one of our breaks here sitting on the banks of the River Teme. The final section is particularly as you pass through the glorious Malvern Hills.
I have completed this walk many times, leading it for several groups including twice for the 'Malvern Walking Festival' as one of their challenge walks!
I'm not going to lie, it's not easy. 12 hours of hiking and over 5,000ft of climbing, including the Suckley Hills and the Malvern hills, it is a challenge. But with all those climbs come stunning views. If you are an experienced walker who has completed 20+ mile or hilly hikes before you will find this a hard but rewarding hike.
Having said that, please only join this walk if you have completed 20+ mile walks before and have a good level of fitness!
This walk usually takes around 12 hours, thats including 3 breaks, a main break about half way and two shorter breaks. Bring enough foo and snacks to sustain you. Also bring plenty of water - minimum 2 ltrs. We don't go past any shops only a couple of pubs.
Look forward to seeing you in July.
