Poetry Reading with Mike Foster

To end National Poetry Month right, we have local poet Michael Foster joining us in the Cordingley Room for a reading! Fun fact: He wrote most of his work while he was here at the Library!

Mike Foster was born and raised in California. He served 21 years in the United States Air Force. He has lived in ten states, and four foreign countries, including England and Italy. He has kissed the Blarney Stone, climbed the Leaning Tower of Pisa, been to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, and served a noncombatant tour in Vietnam. He is a published poet, and enjoys working on his family genealogy. He is married, a father and grandfather, and lives in Montana.

There was a fly
that caught my eye
under a bush or two.

It wasn't his wings
but other things
his scarf and his shoes.

Red fedora
to wear tomorrow
when flying over stew.

I watched him stand
in Neverland
his eyes so baby blue.
