Axis Syllabus dance workshop with Lisbeth Bitto
Every step we take is a quiet masterpiece of coordination — yet we rarely give our feet the attention they deserve. This weekend workshop invites you to rediscover walking as a conscious, creative, and embodied practice.
Starting from the ground up, we’ll explore the feet' structural intelligence, anatomical design, and biomechanical function as our first point of contact with the world. Through the lens of the Axis Syllabus, we’ll deepen our understanding of how weight transfer, rhythm, and alignment shape not only how we move — but how we feel in movement and dance.
Through guided explorations, improvisation, and playful exercises, we will investigate different walking patterns, their expressive potential and how walk informs our dance!
This workshop is open to all movement-curious humans — with or without dance experience.

About Lisbeth
Lisbeth is a freelance dancer, choreographer, and dance educator with over a decade of teaching experience. Certified in the Axis Syllabus method since 2015, she is currently pursuing her studies in Dance Movement Therapy at Codarts (Rotterdam).
She has danced with various international companies and choreographers and has contributed as artistic director, choreographer, and performer to award-winning socio-political art projects. Her work often centers on marginalized communities and explores themes such as empowerment and feminism.
Lisbeth’s teaching draws from applied anatomy and biomechanics, informed by her rich movement background in urban and breakdance, contemporary, contact improvisation, and somatic practices.
She regularly teaches workshops across Europe and beyond, including at SOZO (Kassel), PKKY (Finland), Studio Hybrid (Brussels), TQ (Vienna), Nomadic College (Apulia, Italy), Studio Naim (Tel Aviv), and Bühnenwerkstätte (Graz).
Lisbeth is the proud mother of three little wonders.
