✨ AS NIGHT FALLS, A LANDSCAPE OF LIGHT AWAKENS ✨
Light Up Thurrock is back — and this year we’re celebrating FIVE YEARS of lighting up the night together!
Join us on Friday 20th March 2026 as we gather at East Tilbury Primary Academy and set off in a glowing lantern procession to Coalhouse Fort for a spectacular after-dark finale.
From 5:45pm we’ll come together, lanterns in hand, before lighting the way to Coalhouse Fort. From 7:00pm the historic site will be transformed with breathtaking light installations, projection mapping, a huge mass dance performance led by CoDa Dance Company, and brand new commissioned artworks created especially for this milestone year.
This year’s theme is The In-Between — the magical moment before sleep when imagination takes over. Expect glowing structures, immersive spaces, specially commissioned lullabies inside Murmuration Arts’ moon installation, and a brand new Arts Outburst work, Breathe.
