With five GRAMMY Awards, 14 Blues Foundation Awards, and a career spanning nearly 50 years, Keb’ Mo’ is a modern master of American roots music. Born and raised in Compton, he began his journey at 21, playing with Jefferson Airplane’s Papa John Creach. After two decades as a sought-after guitarist, songwriter, and arranger, he stepped into the spotlight with his acclaimed 1994 debut, introducing a fresh, soulful sound that honored the blues while pushing it forward.
Since then, Keb’ has topped the Billboard Blues Chart, performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the White House, and collaborated with greats like Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, and Lyle Lovett. His songs have been recorded by B.B. King, Zac Brown, and even BTS, reflecting the universal appeal of his artistry.
Beyond the stage, Keb’ has appeared in The Blues, The West Wing, and Honeydripper, and remains a dedicated philanthropist and mentor. Through his work with the Kennedy Center’s Turnaround Arts Program and the Playing For Change Foundation, he’s helped bring music and opportunity to children around the world.
