Yes summer is fast approaching more poolside luncheons & patio gatherings and lots of opportunities for the wines that come from Italy's northern borders with Austria & Switzerland the region of Alto Adige.
Generally described as Germanic styled whites and Tuscan styled reds restrained and elegant well paired to more lightly dressed salads than the richer winter & spring preparations. Alto Adige wineries produce Gewurztraminer Muller-Thurgau Sylvaner and Gruner Veltliner (see the Germanic theme) in addition to Pinot Bianco Pinot Grigios and more. On the red side Pinot Noir Cab & Merlot all do well together with native grapes Vernatsch & Lagrien. Well learn about many of them while tasting six that we think will be well suited for North Texas summer sipping!
