WHAT:
On Friday August 15 SONIC® at 201 West NW Highway in Grapevine – family owned and operated since opening in 1975 – is celebrating 50 years in business with a fun-filled day of 50-cent menu favorites a raffle for 50 local teachers and a photo recreation with the mayor.
Starting at 11 a.m. on Friday guests can enjoy 50-cent Jr Cheeseburgers Corn Dogs hot dogs vanilla dish and small Cherry Limeades all day.
Throughout the day until 5pm teachers faculty and staff from Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District (GCISD) public and private schools with a valid school ID are invited to enter a raffle onsite at the SONIC for a chance to be one of the 50 winners to receive a $50 Amazon gift card.*
This effort highlights SONIC’s long-standing commitment to supporting teachers and schools through the SONIC Foundation.** Since 2009 the SONIC Limeades for Learning initiative has raised more than $30 million for funding local classrooms becoming one of the most extensive programs in the U.S. to support public education.
Adding to the excitement Grapevine Mayor William D. Tate will make a special appearance to recreate a historic photograph from SONIC Grapevine’s grand opening 50 years ago – a moment that will capture rich Grapevine history.
