We are launching a JT Swing Team based out of Candela Dance Studio in Grants Pass!
*** We need at least 6 couples to launch this team ***
WHAT IS A JT SWING TEAM?
It's a West Coast Swing performance group that learns and practices choreography created by WCS titans Jordan and Tatiana, then performs it locally and at WCS conventions. There are JT Swing Teams all over the world who will be learning this same choreography.
WHEN ARE THE PRACTICES?
Monday nights at Candela Dance Studio, starting July 7.
We'll start off practicing from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
WHO IS LEADING THE PRACTICES?
Melissa from Candela, who has choreography and performance experience in multiple dance forms including West Coast Swing & Salsa.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost is $80 per month. Must commit to dancing for the whole season (5 months, from July-November)
WHAT LEVEL IS THIS?
Instructor approval is required for participation in this team. You must know your WCS basics, including passes, pushes, whips, tucks and more. Reach out to Melissa if you're unsure whether you qualify. (J&T previously had two levels of choreography per season, but this round they just have one "all levels" routine)
DO I NEED A PARTNER?
It would help to sign up with a partner. But if you don't have one we can help connect you to one.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM?
• This is high-quality choreography created by the world's top West Coast Swing dancers
• It will add structure to your dance development
• Moves and techniques learned in choreography will carry over into your social dancing.
• To challenge yourself. This is a couple of notches up from a normal West Coast Swing class. Be prepared to sweat and drill!
• For the memories; there's nothing like performing something you've worked hard on with a group of friends
DO I NEED TO TRAVEL TO CONVENTIONS TO PERFORM?
No. If you are unable to travel to conventions, you can choose to just participate in the local performances.
