Due to low turnout, we are switching our hiking location to the beautiful Lake 22 trail, a Pacific Northwest favorite located just off the Mountain Loop Highway. Note that the date and time for the hike remain the same; We are still on for Sat, 9/20/2025!
We hope this change will inspire more of you to join us on the hike. This hike is easier and more conveniently located—just about 1 hour and 10 minutes from Seattle/Bellevue, and even closer for those in Snohomish County.

📍 Approx. 12 miles east of Granite Falls
Getting There
Take Hwy 92 to Granite Falls, where it ends and becomes E Stanley Street. Go east 0.3 mile, then turn left (north) onto N Alder Avenue, which turns into the Mountain Loop Highway. 10.6 miles later, enter the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. 2.1 miles past the entrance to the Forest, pass over Twentytwo Creek, and 0.4 mile farther, turn right at the entry for the Lake Twentytwo trailhead.
The parking area is located around a gravel loop and holds nearly 50 cars. There is a privy available.

- Distance & Elevation: ~5.4 miles round trip, ~1,350 ft elevation gain
- Estimated Duration: ~4-5 hours, including lunch and breaks
- Difficulty: Moderate – well-maintained trail and gentle switchbacks
- Driving Time: ~1hr 10min from Seattle/Bellevue
This trail features lush forests, waterfalls, boardwalks, and a scenic alpine lake – a perfect blend of nature and accessibility, making it a great fit for hikers of all levels.
We're still planning to gather nearby afterwards for a drink and a bite to eat. However, the post-hike portion won't be at the Swiss Chalet at Stevens Pass
