An Evening of Generosity Swap w/ Ifrah Mansour
Thursday, May 8th 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Join us at The YES! House on Thursday, May 8th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM for an evening dedicated to exchanging heartfelt reflections on generosity hosted by visiting artist, Ifrah Mansour.
Participants will gather around tables filled with vibrant Somali fabrics, markers, fabric fusing tape, scissors, and fabric stiffener. Through gentle, guided prompts, each person will craft their own unique fabric leaf, writing down personal reflections on moments when they’ve experienced generosity.
Once complete, these fabric leaves—each carrying a meaningful story—will be added collectively to the “Seeding Generosity” sculpture, weaving together individual experiences into a vibrant tapestry of communal generosity.
Attendees will then be invited to come together to share, or just listen, during our Generosity Swap circle led by Ifrah. We will explore how generosity can bloom through shared stories and creative connections.
This event is free and open to the public with snacks & beverages provided.
About Ifrah's Interactive, Evolving Sculpture:
Seeding Generosity is an evolving sculpture, crafted during Ramadan as a participatory meditation on generosity, inviting the community to come together in creative reflection and shared storytelling. Made from woven bamboo strips and vibrant Somali fabric, the artwork embodies the ongoing practice and infinite potential of generosity—the gift that continuously sprouts, grows, and unfolds. Placed at the heart of a communal gathering space, the sculpture serves as both a visual anchor and an open invitation: community members are warmly encouraged to add their own fabric leaves, each infused with personal reflections on generosity and compassion.
As more hands contribute, the sculpture’s beauty deepens and multiplies, symbolizing stories exchanged, kindness expressed, and bonds strengthened through collaborative creation. Join us around the “Seeding Generosity” sculpture, take a moment to reflect, add your story, and watch generosity grow.
