52 Hike Challenge Washington Chapter Hike Mt Pilchuck Trail

We're clebrating National Trails Day!

This is a moderately challenging 5.4 mile round trip hike. Easily one of the most rewarding hikes in the area, its relatively short 2.7 mile, 2,300 feet ascent rewards you with 360-degree views of Mount Baker, Mount Rainier and the Olympics from its shelter lookout nestled on a summit that tops out around 5,300 feet.

When: Thursday June 5, 2025 at 9:00 AM.

Skill Level: Intermediate. Approximately 5.4 miles with 2300 feet of elevation gain and a short rock scramble to the final lookout.

Be sure to wear adequate clothing (think layers) and sunscreen and bring at least 2L of water, along with snacks and electrolytes. As always, please pack your 10 essentials for safety reasons!

A Northwest Forest Pass is required to park at the trailhead (one per vehicle). The road to the Trailhead includes 4.7 miles of rough gravel road.
