Scrap Happens aims to provide a welcoming and creative space for members to gather, share ideas, and work on their junk journal projects. Our meetings are designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and friendship among participants. We understand that this will be the first foray into junk journaling for many, so we'll start with an introduction to junk journaling. By coming, it in no way means you'll have to continue with the group. In coming together, we hope to inspire each other, exchange techniques, and build a supportive community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for junk journaling.
What to Bring (Required): A journal or notebook (feel free to ask for recommendations if needed), scissors, glue sticks or adhesive tape (liquid glue is not allowed at the library), magazines, junk mail, tags, bags, and miscellaneous paper from your life. An open mind and a creative heart are also essential!
Optional Items: Colored pens, markers, or pencils, stickers and washi tape, rubber stamps and ink pads, ribbons and lace, buttons and beads, fabric scraps, old postcards or greeting cards, envelopes, decorative paper or scrapbook paper, paper punches or decorative scissors, stencils and templates, photos or printed images, and ephemera (e.g., ticket stubs, receipts, brochures). Please note that glitter and paint are persona non grata.
Snacks and Beverages: Feel free to bring snacks and beverages (Note: Beverages containing red, purple, or orange dye are prohibited).
RSVP: Space is limited to 20 attendees, so please RSVP. We can definitely invite other folks, but once we hit 20, we'll have to look at a bigger location for future sessions.
Supplies Available: A plethora of paper, ephemera, stickers, washi tape, and journal confetti will be available for use.
