Erik Palmberg/Anton Dromberg Duo presented by Red Door

Erik Palmberg (trumpet) and Anton Dromberg (piano) are two prominent voices on the Swedish jazz scene. Known for their sensitive interplay and lyrical expression, the duo draws from both the rich jazz tradition and their Nordic musical heritage.

In addition to performing together in the acclaimed Erik Palmberg Quartet - touring Scotland this November - the two musicians have developed a duo project that explores a more intimate and cinematic sound world. Their music has been featured on Swedish National Radio’s "Poem of the Day", where it was selected for its poetic, lyrical qualities and evocative atmosphere.

The Erik Palmberg Quartet recently won the readers poll for Gyllene Skivan— for their album Faces, voted Best Jazz Album of the Year by Orkesterjournalen’s readers. In this concert, Erik and Anton will perform select pieces from that album, along with a curated mix of jazz standards and works by Swedish jazz greats such as Jan Johansson.

This concert offers a chance to experience two of Sweden’s finest jazz musicians in an intimate setting — where melody, mood, and musical conversation take centre stage in the distinctive space at St. Peter's.
