About the event

Monte Pride, Rabbit Fur, Selkie
Monte Pride is a Michigan-born and based singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist whose music recalls the delicate vocals of Simon & Garfunkel, with guitar-work reminiscent of The Tallest Man On Earth and early Joni Mitchell. Paired with electric, ambient soundscapes, he blends haunting melodies with vivid lyricism to create lush, experimental folk songs.
__

Rabbit Fur:
Rebecca Rodriguez and Aaron Ekins are former members of the long running pop band The Icicles. They’ve left pop in the shadows with their new band, Rabbit Fur.
Often joined by Anne LaGrand on cello and Matt Reidsma on mandolin, Rabbit Fur create somber, dark, folk music played with classical guitar, bass, dream like vocals and thoughtful sentiments.
All original songs written by Rabbit Fur.
Sound description: Classical & acoustic guitar, alternate tunings, bass guitar and vocal harmonies. Soft sound, intricate notation.
Would be filed under: Deep dark indie

Selkie is a trio of dynamic Celtic musicians who play traditional music and original music with a trademark intensity and drive. The sounds of flute, fiddle, bouzouki, banjo, guitar, accordion, and harp are woven into Selkie's music, along with the vocal harmonies they use for their songs.
Selkie members Jim Spalink, Michele Venegas, and Cara Lieurance have also performed with Michigan-based Celtic bands An Dro, Fonn Mohr, Archive, Merry Sisters of Fate, Amadaun, and Whiskey Before Breakfast. The trio bonded through previous musical projects and a love of sharing Celtic music with others.

In addition to our craft beer, coffee and wine selection, our kitchen will be open serving our full dinner menu until 9pm! Get here early to snag your favorite seat and grab a bite to eat before the show begins. This show is free to attend, but you can support artists through tips.

The Stray is a listening room style venue and cafe, where performers are front and center, not background entertainment. We frequently ask attendees to silence their phones and keep conversations low out of respect to performers and other audience members.
