Media Makers Summer Camp | TV Production

Write, produce, and direct an original TV segment in GRTV's studio! Over this week-long session, campers will work collaboratively to script, design, light, and film a live in-studio show. Reporters from CMC's citizen journalism platform The Rapidian will help the campers develop media literacy and newswriting skills.

Candidates:
Grand Rapids high-schoolers with a passion and interest in media. No previous experience required.

Cost:
This camp is free to join. Campers are paid a stipend for their participation.

About Media Makers:
Mixing the explorative atmosphere of a summer camp with internship-level professional experiences, Media Makers is designed to teach high school students fundamental production techniques through creating. Over the course of a week, campers will learn from industry professionals, work with high-quality media equipment, and produce their own original short film, TV show, or podcast.

Grand Rapids Community Media Center:
All campers receive a free one-year membership to GRTV and the Grand Rapids Community Media Center. This gives them free access to the production equipment they will learn to use during their session to keep creating beyond their camp experience.

This session is offered in June and July.
