Who is MBEI?
Michigan Black Expo, Inc. (MBEI) is a nonprofit organization founded on May 9, 1995, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Inspired by the Indiana Black Expo and Rev. Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow Coalition Black Expo in Chicago, MBEI was created to address racism, create career opportunities, and bring communities together through events and programs that uplift African American culture and heritage.
What is INDMediaCOH?
INDMediaCOH, a core initiative of Michigan Black Expo, Inc. (MBEI), is designed to empower marginalized youth through real-world, industry-driven media education. Rooted in Grand Rapids and inspired by legacy institutions like WHUR and Howard University, INDMediaCOH serves as a launchpad for emerging talent in journalism, cinema, broadcasting, publishing, and urban music.
