Join us for a Wheel Chair Accessibe Foraging Class at Huff Park!
Get ready to explore the wild world of foraging on this guided plant walk through Huff Park. Join plant educator & enthusiast, Heather Walsh of Rooted Connections, as we learn about the various edible & medicinal plants that call this trail home, while exploring some samplings along the way.
Event Details:
Date: Thursday, July 3
Time: Check-in's begin at 6:15pm. Class starts promptly at 6:30pm. If you arrive late, we are unable to wait for you, so please come find us along the main trail. This is a 90 minute class.
Location: Huff Park (1435 Aberdeen Street NE, Grand Rapids). Please note that entering "Huff Park" into a GPS may bring you to the wrong street. Entering the address provided will bring you to the correct meeting spot. Entering the address provided will bring you to the correct meeting spot.
Parking & Restrooms: A small parking lot for parking is available on Aberdeen Street, as well as off street parking along Aberdeen if the parking lot is full. We will meet near the parking lot. There are no restrooms at this location.
Who: This Plant Walk is for humans age 8+. Please no pets, but service animals and well behaved ESA's are always welcome. Rooted Connections events are always a safe place for members of the LGBTQIA+ & BIPOC communities.
Wear: Clothing appropriate for the day’s weather, comfortable outdoor, closed toed shoes/boots, tall socks and long pants preferred. (Please be mindful, there’s always a chance we could encounter some mud, moisquitos, poison ivy or ticks).
Bring: Notepad & pen or a charged device for notes, Bug spray & Sunscreen, Water bottle, Umbrella or Rain jacket in the case of rain.
Weather: Class will remain scheduled in the event of rain. However in the event of severe or extreme weather, class will be canceled and refund will be issued.
Cancellation Policy: Full refund for cancellations up to 24 hours before class start time. No refunds less than 24 hours before class start time.
