They will be in the SOCIAL HALL at Fountain Street Church.
Ann Arbor based twin brothers, San and Laz Slomovits, along with San’s daughter Emily, combine uncannily matched voices with wonderful musicianship on nearly a dozen instruments. They specialize in American and international music genres that appeal to children, families and adults.
Beginning at 6 PM Gemily will play a concert for families with young children. Then at 7PM they will play a family friendly show for adults in which they will feature folk songs from the 1960s as well as original and contemporary songs, all relating and responding to our current times.
Gemily (Gemini & Emily) is the folk music trio comprised of Laz and San Slomovits, and San's daughter, Emily. Laz and San, as the popular family music duo, Gemini, have performed throughout Michigan and the United States since 1973. Emily began joining them on stage when she was just eight, and increasingly since graduating from college in 2016. All three are excellent singers and versatile instrumentalists; between them they play guitars, violins, ukulele, mandolin, pennywhistle, and a variety of folk flutes and hand percussion instruments.
San and Laz's recordings have won awards from the American Library Association, Parents' Choice Magazine, National Parenting Publications, the Wolf Trap Institute, Early Childhood News and ASCAP. Emily, who studied classical violin for over a decade, is an excellent violinist in many styles including classical, jazz, klezmer and folk.
Gemily's beautifully blended harmony vocals and exciting instrumental work breathe new life into a wide variety of American and international music, from folk to classical, klezmer to Broadway show tunes, traditional to contemporary pop. Audiences thrill to their musicianship, warmth, humor and ease on stage.
