A night of Allegedly True standup comedy.
Presented by Leighton Media and the Empire Arts Center.
Matthew Ternus has spent the last four years performing standup across the Midwest, from cozy coffee shops to historic theaters like the Empire Arts Center. Blending personal stories with sharp observations, his comedy walks the line between truth and exaggeration—on purpose. With a background in improv through Nine & Numb and training from The Second City, Matthew brings a storytelling style that’s both relatable and just a little bit unhinged. Named Grand Forks’ Top Entertainer in Community Votes 2024, he’s on a mission to make you laugh—whether it’s with him or at him.
Featuring Richard Z, who is a staple of the region's comedy. He is a regular at The Cellar in Fargo and can be found at mics all over the state. He has performed throughout the Midwest, and was a finalist in Acme’s Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest in 2023. As a student of the craft, Richard has studied comedy and theatre at The Guthrie, HUGE Improv Theater, and The Second City.
Hosted by Bo Brorby. Bo has been cracking up friends and family for years with his sharp wit and everyday observations. A lifelong joke writer, Bo finally hit the stage last year - bringing his hilarious takes on the absurdities of modern life to audiences everywhere. His comedy taps into the little irritations that drive us all crazy, the weird things we never question, and the bizarre beauty of daily life. With a style that is clever, relatable, and full of bite, Bo is just getting started by saying what we're all thinking.
