AABC Outing at F. Meijer Gardens

We're going on a trip to Frederick Meijer Gardens! Please sign up, show up, and fan out in the F. Meijer Gardens with us as we explore this sensory soothing experience.

Everyone is invited so bring the whole family.

Itinerary:

9:30am - Meet in the lobby of FMG

9:30-10am - Participate in a gathering activity.

10am sharp! - We head in to the exhibits & check out what's going on.

12-1pm - Lunch

(there is a cafeteria to purchase from, or bring a lunch)

1pm - 2pm - Look around some more, maybe check out the gift shop.

2pm - We conclude and have great conversations about our day in the car on the way home.

LIMITED SPACE: This event is free, but you MUST pre-register to attend NO LATER THAN June 1st. If you register, but are unable to attend, cancel your order so someone else can enjoy. Transfers are allowed and encouraged to make the most of this experience.

Times chosen are during non-peak hours to accommodate friends and family on the spectrum. This event is open to everyone, regardless of sensitivities.

Info: Look for AABC members wearing "Autism Alliance of Barry County" shirts in the front lobby with all of the hanging plants on the ceiling. A F. Meijer Garden volunteer will be there to show us the way. *Last year taught us that this particular lobby is quite loud with echos. You may want to bring a noise dampener for anyone with noise sensitivities.

Info: Meet us in the big room with the information desk, toward the front of the building. There are benches to gather on and last year there was a huge, sculpted face on the wall. There is a cafeteria to purchase from, or bring a lunch. The cafeteria takes a considerable amount of time to order from, so you'll definitely need to bring some patience if choosing that. We will have our own private classroom to decompress and enjoy a quiet space for our afternoon meals.

Info: Hopefully this will be a beautiful day and we can go for a stroll in the gardens outside! There is a treehouse, a water pond play area, sculpture garden, and so much nature! Bring your walking shoes.

Info: We conclude and have great conversations about our day in the car on the way home. Or... maybe not. AABC will be concluding our outing at 2pm, but we all have admission for the whole day! Feel free to make a leisurely day of it and take your time seeing all there is to see with your family and friends,
