🚂 Steaming at the Goulburn Historic Waterworks Museum (Marsden Weir)
Step into another time at this rare and remarkable facility, set along the banks of the picturesque Wollondilly River. Built between 1883 and 1885, the Goulburn Historic Waterworks provided the city’s first reticulated water supply and still houses the original Appleby Bros. Beam Engine and Galloway Boilers.
This is the only complete, steam powered municipal water supply left in its original location in the Southern Hemisphere, a true engineering marvel! Now protected by a permanent conservation order and listed on both the State Heritage and National Trust Registers, the Waterworks Museum is a must see for every steampunk soul.
🚌 A free shuttle bus will be running between the Fair and the Goulburn Historic Waterworks Museum, departing every 15 minutes from the Goulburn Council Civic Centre and returning throughout the day between 9:45am and 3:45pm, making it easy for all adventurers to experience the marvels of steam without delay!
