EYAS Dance Project
Our sensory improvisation practice offers a space for exploration where the body becomes a channel of listening and expression. Guided by images, sensations and transforming internal states, we invite the participants to immerse themselves in the present through heightened perception and connection with joy in its most genuine form.
It’s a journey to authenticity where each person discovers their own dance through softness, curiosity and delicacy. We cultivate a deep relationship with our sensitive bodies, awakening an expansive consciousness that opens and propels us towards new possibilities.
It’s a practice in which each session is an invitation to listen to the body in its most present and awakened state, stimulating the senses and intuition, to discover within movement an expressive, intimate and transformative language.
We recommend participants come in comfortable clothing that is easy to move in (something to exercise in or work-out clothes, for example) and to bring a water bottle to drink from after the session.
BIO:
EYAS Dance Project is a contemporary dance company and cultural platform based in Valencia, founded in 2018 by co-directors, creators, and dancers Carlos González and Seth Buckley.
Carlos and Seth are passionate and boundary-pushing artists who thrive on exploring uncharted creative territories. With a bold spirit and a deep commitment to questioning the status quo, their work seeks to connect with audiences through immersive, innovative, and profoundly emotional performative experiences.
They create for EYAS, take on external choreographic commissions, and produce cultural events, festivals, and workshops—all with the purpose of offering a renewed vision of dance. Their work focuses on healing bodies, cultivating transformative experiences, and exploring new paradigms of connection and movement.
What drives their creativity is the depth of their creations. Through sensitive, playful, and passionate choreographic and improvisational research, they draw inspiration from various dance styles, as well as from film, science, and spirituality, infusing their works with boundless fantasy, contagious rhythm, and vibrant physicality.
EYAS is deeply committed to creating supportive spaces for dancers and artists. They actively promote body diversity, reject harmful societal standards, and advocate for ethical and holistic practices in their creations, workshops, and cultural events. Their goal is to contribute to a dance profession that is more conscious, diverse, joyful, and equitable.
