The Banana Slug String Band, with its fun and engaging music, has a strong track record of teaching children and families about environmental stewardship. Their song, "We All Live Downstream," emphasizes the interconnectedness of our waterways and the responsibility each of us has to keep them clean.
This performance marks their 6th visit to Goshen and the 40th anniversary of the band, and it’s a perfect opportunity to educate the public about the importance of caring for our rivers and watersheds.
One of the main goals of this event is to raise awareness and help our community, especially the younger generation, understand the critical role of healthy watersheds. By engaging families in this fun, edu-taining concert, we hope to inspire stewardship and action to protect the Elkhart River and its watershed.
This has been generously funded by the Elkhart River Restoration Association, the Community Foundation of Elkhart County, NIPSCO, Victoria Brennamen, Dr. Haimes, Grace Shevick, Ref and Vonda, and others.
There will be an ask at the concert to assist in the Elkhart River Restoration Association's mission to provide a clean environment for wildlife and community recreation within the Elkhart River watershed.
