Yin Yoga - 'Easy like a Sunday morning'
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin yoga offers numerous benefits, including improved flexibility, reduced stress and anxiety, enhanced joint health and improved emotional wellbeing. It also promotes deeper relaxation, mindful breathing, and increased body awareness.
Space to Slow Down
So often, even in yoga, there’s a sense of striving—an undercurrent of achievement.
Yin yoga offers something different: a space to slow down. It invites us to stay with our experiences, rather than always rushing through them.
In a Yin yoga practice, all the postures are seated or reclined, and each one is held for a sustained period—often five minutes or more (beginners 3 minutes - 4).
These long holds create an opportunity for softness, a release of muscular effort, and an invitation to simply be.
Within this stillness, something quiet but powerful happens.
A sense of harmony begins to emerge. Peace seeps in.
There’s greater ease, a deeper sense of balance, and feelings of calmness and acceptance—both within the body and beyond it
