Well-keepers from around the land, share their knowledge and experience of our natural well-springs; the stories and mythology surrounding them; their spiritual significance & reputed healing benefits; along with practical techniques for uncovering and restoring blocked wells to healthy flow.
We invite anyone who is interested in the heritage of this land and our life-giving natural water, to attend. This is very much a community-focused event and we welcome participation from those attending, through questions and knowledge-sharing.

Amanda Clarke holds an MA in Museum and Gallery Education; is a former teacher, occasional researcher at Leicester University, and sometimes tutor at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Since blowing into Ireland 23 years ago, she has had time to develop her enthusiasm for walking, photography, folklore - and holy wells, about which, she authored ‘Holy Wells of County Cork’, (Wildways Press, 2023
Charlotte Emily Rose lives in Kinsale, formerly known as ‘Fána na toibreacha’ (slope of the wells). A deep inner calling to the restoration of well-being, divine flow, unity, harmony and balance through reverence and conscious connection to the sacred waters of all life, brought her to find, clear and restore the town’s ancient wells (over 100 so far), alongside a steadily growing, local community of well-tenders. Gary Branigan is a local historian from Dublin. He identifies and records forgotten history, lore, and monuments across the island of Ireland, particularly relating to holy wells. He is the author or co-author of Ancient and Holy Wells of Dublin (2012), Fountains of Dublin (2014), Cavan Folk Tales (2016), Kerry Folk Tales (2019), and Anthology of Irish Folk Tales (2020). He is also founder and administrator of the Facebook Group ‘Ancient and Holy Wells of Ireland’
Katie McShane is a passionate advocate for water, a sound healer, celebrant, explorer of healing arts, and environmental educator – a sea-splashing social scientist, delving into the social and cultural aspects of water. With a deep-rooted love for nature and profound respect for the inter-connectedness of eco-systems, Katie has made it her life's mission to educate, celebrate and raise awareness about the importance of water conservation and protection. www.wisewater.ie
Rosaleen Durkin is a Kinesiologist with 35 years’ experience, based in Co. Wicklow, who specialises in working with children and ancestral healing. She is a member of the voluntary group ‘Wicklow Wells’, which documents the folklore and stories of some of Wicklow's 130 holy wells. This involves putting up marker stones and information plaques and looking after the upkeep of the public access wells. www.rosaleendurkin.com
Saraí Humble is an avid mythologist, survivalist, intangible heritage practitioner and water caretaker, whose passion for Ireland’s water, fuels her diverse pursuits. Committed to promoting the preservation of holy wells, she has been restoring them with her project ‘All Is Well’ for the last decade and generating communities around these spaces. Saraí is currently developing a well map and accompanying book that will serve as an invaluable resource for those eager to explore the significance of these sites and their care. www.alliswell.ie
