Host band Junior and The Easy Aces is a four-piece blues / RnB outfit with a street-walkin’ attitude. This powerful act always gets the crowd going with a gritty combination of blues, rock and infectious, hip-shakin’ songs
Frontman Junior Hickey rocks the house in his powerful vocal style with the help of his growlin’ Hohner harp.
Stalwarts of the Brisbane scene, having played Grease Fest and most other major venues.
The last Jam was a great success so come early.
Musicians and bands please note, the event is a Blues Jam rather than an open mic.
Musicians / Vocalists can register with the MC from 12.30pm and the MC will put 6 or 7 bands together from the musicians that have registered. Each set of musicians get a 15-minute slot.
One established band spot is normally available, best to pre book with the President, to avoid disappointment.
The Jam is tailored to individuals rather than bands that want to play a short set.
Backline and drum kit supplied.
The MC does not have an easy role and although there is some room for flexibility the MCs decision is final and people attending the jam need to treat the MC, BASEQ committee members and staff of the Royal Mail with courtesy and respect.
Host band kick off at 1 pm for their first set, so be early and grab a seat, a drink or two and a bite from the kitchen.
Jammers start at 1.45pm. The Host band, will finish off the day with another set from around 4:15 to 5pm
